Which came first Lego or Playmobil?

The German company Geobra Brandstätter GmbH & Co KG first launched Playmobil on the market in 1974.

The Lego Group launched its coloured plastic bricks that can be assembled to form different figures in 1949. Leaving behind the production of wooden products.

So the Lego company had 25 years of history in the production and marketing of its toy when the Playmobil company launched its first products.

However, the first Lego minifigure was created in 1978.
In fact, the first human-like figures appeared in 1974, although they were simply a square block with movable arms.
